THE SACRED RECORDS OF THE MIDEWIWIN
for the next generation to remember

The Midewiwin, or The Way of the Good Heart, is the oldest faith in the Americas. Due to colonialism, it became a secret society from 1599 to 1999, as family, community, and cultural traditions that preserved its teachings were disrupted. The tradition was kept alive by a few dedicated individuals, with ceremonies and teachings hidden in private records that were moved, rewritten or transferred to paper form for transport.

Despite these challenges, the records keepers of the Midewiwin faith revived interest in the sacred teachings in the late 20th century, reclaiming and revitalizing these sacred practices contained. Today, it provides spiritual guidance and cultural continuity, symbolizing resilience, connection to the land, and harmony with all living things.

We provide for public use the Sacred Records that pertain directly to the Great Peacemaker whom carried the phonetic sound of Yehoshua or in the North American Continent Yah-haaw-Zho-Waa and in the Central to Southern Continent Ajaw-chu-waaj (Ahow-zhu-wah). When Catholic Priests heard the similar sounds to the original name of Jesus as well as the stories associated they sought the destruction of our spiritual leaders. Therefore the Peacemakers name was shortened for public use to "Aho" (From Aho-Zho-Wah) or "Ahow" spelled in Maya as Ajaw (From Ahow-Zhu-Wah) which as terms mean 'Lord' or 'King' and also as a prayer similar to "Amen".

Certainly the same Peacemaker came amongst all peoples of the earth however in our records he began with us and was and always will be our sacred boy from the sun.
